Stars help give baseball a pulse in inner cities
Juan Pierre joins fellow African-American MLB players Orlando Hudson, Ken Griffey Jr., Garret Anderson, Prince Fielder, Brandon Phillips, and Gary Sheffield to promote baseball in inner-city neighborhoods. If all of the millions of kids that Pierre has worked with would vote just 5 times, Juan would have locked up the starting All-Star nod last decade. What a stud.

Manny Falls to 7th in Voting
Manny is now trailing Mike freakin' Cameron in ASG balloting. I mean, Manny doesn't deserve to be there, but Mike Cameron? Brewers fans are delusional. Cameron is hitting .243. He was in a 3-for-38 slump a few weeks ago, yet he's somehow more worthy of the honor than Beast Mode?!!!
We all know the only reason Juan Pierre isn't running away with the voting is because he's not on the ballot, and its difficult to write "Juan Pierre" on 20,000 ballots, but let's be real here: Mike Cameron should not be anywhere near the All Star Game, and Brewers fans are making a bigger mockery of it than Manny is.
I'm guessing Corey Hart (.248) is in the top 10 also. Shame on you, Milwaukee.

Manny Falls to 6th in Voting
Shane Victorino has overtaken Manny. Also, Juan Pierre is probably 7th by now, and climbing.
Click here for the article about it.
Gee I can't wait for Manny's return, so his knucklehead fans can riot again like they did when the Lakers won lastnight. [/sarcasm]

If I could write in Ken Gurnick, I would...
... but I've already put Juan Pierre and Casey Blake in the write-in spots.
Thanks for putting the VoteForPierre cause on the map, Ken.
You can read all about it on the front page of the Dodgers' Official Website, or you can click the following link to go there directly: http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090607&content_id=5199378&vkey=news_la&fext=.jsp&c_id=la

This goes beyond simply voting.
Of course, we can each vote 25 times with each email address. You can use fake email addresses, so go ahead and vote as many times as you can. This voting will help alleviate the stupidity of the All-Star game which, at this point, will have Jason Kendall squatting behind the plate. (Jason Kendall is #1 in voting for catchers? Really???)
You can only vote for two other outfielders when you write in Juan Pierre, so make sure your write-in vote counts.
But, outside of voting, there is more that can be done. Call DodgerTalk after the games and talk about this. Prepare some facts about Pierre, like his BA, OPS, extra base hits, stolen bases, GAMER ATTITUDE, whatever. And just hit the ground running when they take your call. This will inform the uninformed about the cause.
Send an email to Ken Gurnick to tell him to put Pierre's all-star worthy performance on the front page. His email is ken.gurnick@mlb.com.
If anyone else can think of other things to do to aid this, post them here. The JP all-star bid will be one of this year's causes. Since the fan vote bobblehead has been abolished, we must take our efforts to a larger scale, the All-Star Game.
